High on weeds. The things Europe is teaching me. Prt. 3

Living in Europe as opposed to Africa is not so easy especially with the “do it yourself” norm. Which of course in the long run one finds themselves doing or learning to do things they otherwise would never in their lifetime do back home. See in my motherland when you need something done or fixed, there’s always the “guy/girl”, in fact there’s always a guy or girl for everything. Sometimes with just as little as $3 you can have your plumbing done, your lawn mowed and your cows fed and milked -No kidding.

However, since moving to this “do it yourself” land, for someone like me who has had the “guy/girl” do my everything before, it was one of the greatest challenge I had to learn to cope with. On some occasions I curse and feel like a slave to my own life in my own home, but there are also plenty of other occasions you know- those mini moments when one feels absolutely proud of oneself for learning/doing yet one other new stuff. Well, I am going through one of those mini moments right now and I feel so fulfilled from my accomplishment.

Today I have done what I never did – I planted my very first weeds 😁 Hey, hey! Just to clear up your ganja mind, I mean “grass”…. there, now that we are on the same page let me tell you that I have not heard this feeling of satisfaction before and I am even more excited to see what my weeds will turn into. I hope something as beautiful as the excitement I feel right now.

Thank Europe, now I have one other new skills to add to my resume – weed planting 😀👍
